Is there a database somewhere listing rose parentage?
For example all the varieties that have been crossed with a Chrysler Imperial to create the x, y, and z varieties.
I want to try crossing my own but don't want to create something that's already been done!
Thanks

I am not aware of a genetic database such as you mention, however, just because you make the same cross does not mean you will get the same or even similar results.

Helpmefind.com/roses

But unless you subscribe it can be a bit painful to navigate as some features are switched off
Anyone with oryzalin (aka Surflan, Embargo), am looking for a small amount rather than 5litres from manufacturer (min size in Australia....)

Thanks for the replies. Helpmefind looks like they may have the information but yup it's for premium members.

Yes ... it's complicated programming and no one else has anything like it.

For a couple of dollars a month, if you are serious, it's more than worth the money.

I used to do my parentage trees by hand before HMF added that feature. It's time consuming, but I learned a LOT about lineage ... Smiling

I agree that its worth it. I just didnt want to be the person who first mentioned it and was pushing to sub.

Its been an extremely handy site in selecting roses for breeding.
