Hello...

I got this about 4 years ago with a few leaves only and this year it's the first time it got flowers...

The flowers are about an inch wide and before they open they somewhat look like lilies.

Any idea?

Thank you!

Welcome! It's a Clivia, a beautiful plant!

Thank you very much! I might put it into a bigger pot. But it seems to be liking where it is (in the east facing kitchen window). If I do a bigger pot I can't keep it there...

I know nothing about Clivias! Haha

They actually prefer to be kept rather rootbound, so perhaps it would be best to leave it in its current pot. They are a pretty low maintenance plant all around. As you've had it for 4 years you obviously have been doing a good job with its care. Overwatering is one thing they don't tolerate well; they also like to have a winter rest in a cooler room. Now is the time they generally come into bloom, and they bloom for quite a long while. Enjoy your plant!
