Hey so I'm new to growing carnations but I went to the garden store and bought some red carnation seeds and started growing one inside to see how it looked before I dedicate a section of my garden for them, but once it started to bloom flowers I noticed that it wasn't red at all, it was a bright purple color. So my question is, was the package mislabeled or is it a genetic mutation or is it something that I am doing to cause it to be purple instead of red and do you think all the seeds will make purple flowers or are some going to be red and some purple and/or various other colors?
