Hello! I have this lovely plant at work that was given to me as a gift. I want to it bring home but I am scared of my cat taking a bite and getting sick. Does anyone know the name of this plant and if its toxic?

Don't chance it.
Most house plants are poisonous.
I tip my hat to you.

It eminds me of Bloodleaf (Iresine diffusa f. herbstii)

Many plants are toxic to cats and/or dogs so unless you can get a confirmation on the exact identity, I'd hesitate to take it home, especially if your kitty tends to chew on plants. Here's the ASPCA listing for Iresine:

I agree Not a houseplant in my zone, but great color in shady spots. Very easy to start from cuttings.
