Hi. We have just planted a natural "fence" of 10' techny arbovitaes in our backyard. The crew did a great job planting, but they left a gap near an existing tree. see photos

I live in Chicago and would like to be able to fill in around the tree. Does anyone have suggestions of what I can plant to fill the gap? I realize I can plant in front of the tree and around it, but I'm hope I can continue the line of the technys.
