Tom ~ Such wonderful news! Horses OK, Tom OK!!! That's the main thing. Eventually you'll get everything repaired and (hopefully) the hard drive recovered. Take care!

Oh wow that lightning strike sounds terrifying! Glad you and the horses are ok. I had a tree struck by lightning many years ago, which caught on fire as a result. It was the loudest sound I ever heard and the yard lit up brighter than my eyes could handle.

Glad to hear you came through relatively unscathed, Tom.

Once there was a lightning strike many years ago. It hit the transformer across the road and knocked out my UPS (Surge protector). We lost power for quite a while. That must have been about ten years ago, when I had a Dell Windows '98 computer. It blew out the modem, but the rest of the computer was OK. I have not replaced that large surge protector. I take my chances with the smaller surge protectors.

I've just been doing a very late catch-up, Tom (as you no doubt realise from the number of thumbs and acorns from me!) SOO gorgeous Lovey dubby Lovey dubby - my favourite photos are probably the stunning clump shots, but there are lots of irises I now really want. Drooling Thank you so much for letting us enjoy them all.
Oh, and of course Lovey dubby Lovey dubby the animal shots (not just the horses, there's a really sweet looking elderly dog, too).

Glad that you and all your animals are unharmed; sounds frightening.

Thanks Mika, for the comments, thumbs and acorns. It was a pretty good year, and it's a good thing all of the pictures are on here, as I hadn't moved them to a permanent home before the lightning took them all away, so now I can capture them on here. Smiling Finally Aliant Energy is coming to fix the issues with the barn's electric problem, and the electricians are going to be here to complete the issues inside the barn. I'll have complete lights again in the barn. Smiling
