Hi! I'm growing a Mayflower Bean, but I don't know when to harvest the pods? What about drying seeds for more bean plants? Can I eat these raw or do they Have to be cooked? It's my first time growing beans, any help would really be appreciated! Thank you! :) |

![]() Maybeans can be harvested at the green bean stage or left on the vine to dry. Green bean stage is before the beans inside begin to bulge. Dry beans are allowed to dry on the drying vine. Raw beans are poisonous. Raw or undercooked beans !!! Poisonous !!! That's going way to far. They are, toxic, will give you food poison like symptoms, if not boiled for at least 10 minutes to neutralize the toxin. Kidney beans tops the list, for at least 10 minutes of boiling. Castor beans !!! Which !!! Are not really beans !!! Are poisonous !!! Ttfn 😀 😎😎😎 Anything i say, could be misrepresented, or wrong. |
