I know it's off topic from what we talk here but this is for my friends here. There are miles of trails to walk on. Stone or brick paved and some more rustic mulched trails for the ethicist. Wonderfully placed stone sculptures and iron art works thru out the place. You can come here every month and see something different each time. I used to visit here 3 time a year but I wasn't here for 5 years now. They have benches to sit and rest all over the park but even stopping 50 times to rest, my feet are so sore, I don't think I can walk for a week, but I had a very great time.

Such a beautiful place. I remember it well. visited it often as a kid and as an adult growing up in the Youngstown area. This and Lanterman's Mill and the "Goldfish/Lily pond" nearby and of course trips to Handel's Ice Cream nearby afterwards. Happy to see the 4 seasons sculptures were still there. I envy your trip. So sorry your feet were sore and the walking difficult but what a joy to see! Thank you for sharing. Thumbs up

Immaculate and woodsy at the same time. Not my kind of plants for the most part, but the vistas are pretty stunning.

I will try to go more often. Walking is good exercise and there is always something new to see. Next month starts the daylily show with the azaleas and rhododendron being in full bloom. Lots of wild flowers and that woodsy trial walk. Got to make it to Lanterman's Mill this time and get some buckwheat flour and clover jelly. In another two months starts the rose garden show and more daylilies. Also forgot the best part. They have the most beautiful hosta gardens I have ever seen. All labeled and even the most up to date varieties. A walk thru the Japanese garden is also a treat.
I'll show brochures next.

I remember their roses were just splendid! We used to call it 'The Rose Garden' a lot instead of Fellow's Riverside Garden. A lot of people did. Had you ever heard it referred to this way? They also have a beautiful display of herbs and I seem to remember a shade garden and lots of different spring flowers in certain beds. They also used to do art shows and periodic plant sales. Very enjoyable.

What a great place to get out and do some exercise. Couldn't think of a more perfect place for a walk. Envy that you get to see all the Daylilies. Ahhh...the scent and sight. I'm sure the humidity is a treat too. Rolling my eyes. That is the one thing I do not miss!

How about every weekend during now till end of summer, wedding parties and picture taking.
Do you remember the old little house before the big main building was put in? They always sold plants there. The new building almost never sell plants there. They have special plant sales in spring but I missed it. I love the big look out towel. Wish it was higher.
All the roses were cut down level with the ground. Amazingly they all spring back and full of flowers in just a month or two.
