With apologies to the people who do rightly care about the names of good looking iris... here are some iris whose names were not always carefully recorded.

Seen recently in Phoenix...

Mary, your NoIDs may be seedlings then. I find that seedlings are among the hardiest of irises. I guess they would have to be to survive the seed pod without any assistance from me and then root themselves and grow big enough to bloom. Ones that are not the sturdiest of irises would not make it here without being looked after and protected.

Arlyn ~ Thank You! for sharing that article on the value of cherishing old noids.

I am waiting for bloom on some, as I have collected irises not grown in their original spots, I am thinking that some, if not all of them, are from bee pods. I am looking forward to the surprise. One of them looks large enough to bloom, but, we'll see. If I like 'em, I'll keep 'em...if not. ..'bye, 'bye!

Well that would explain why there are slight variations in color in the old iris patches. It would also explain the occasional changling child that appears. These NoIDs are seemingly indestructible. They have endured severe neglect at times and have never been fertilized. I have divided them a lot and use them all over the garden as a unifying element.

The closest I can find is Tiger Play. There is only one photo of Tiger Play in the database and it has veins running down the falls. I don't know if these veins are always prominent.

@Totally_Amazing

I think you are right and it is so close that if not, it would be just as good. And just when I am cutting off my ordering, so that one will have to wait for next year.

Thanks a lot for finding it. Hurray! Hurray!
