Thread OP
I have a magnolia tree that has a vine coming from the top of the tree. It looks like part of the tree .Is it?

Hi Lynda and welcome to NGA.

Vines aren't part of magnolias. Look around the ground at the trunk of the tree and see if you can see a vine growing up it. If you can find the vine you can pull it down or cut it off at the base.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
