As much as we all want plants to grow "into their own", sometimes they just take over. I've started to take out some over-zealous spiderwort and blue-eyed grass. Here are my initial piles. I'd love to see pictures of other folks' problems.![]() ![]() ![]() |

4-8 year old Fishtail fern currently on the ground away from construction, just keep getting bigger. They, along with my 5 Boston Fern are pot bound. Bigger pots mean bigger, heavier plants. If I divide them, I'll have 18!![]() I set a clump of Butterfly Ginger aside in a blank area for GF to pick up. She never came. They've taken over this bed (with 3 dwarf trees on it!). Not the perfect sunny place for them but they aren't complaining! I thin regularly. ![]() I Love Toad Lily. But seriously? I had the trees uplifted so they could get a little sun and this happens. They go dormant and I forget about them. But this year....nope! ![]() Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love Truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you Smile. |

These are my volunteer Spiderwort in a rock bed. They call them Cow Slobber in these here parts. They have spread within the rock bed and nextdoor into a bed that never gets tended to. (Actually it looks nice when the yellow Trailing Daisy blooms beneath them.) They've been there for 4-5 years. I hope the rocks keep them from taking over?![]() ![]() Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love Truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you Smile. |

I love your "weedies", @ShadyGreenThumb. I've never seen Butterfly ginger or Fishtail fern, and never saw toad lily go wild like that. This reminds me that "a weed is just a flower growing in the wrong place" |
