I live in the metro Phoenix area. My son gave me a lavender standard that says it is nonedible and should be grown in indirect light. Could this plant take morning sun here up to 8:45am and then shade the remainder of the day?

Humm ?🤔??? One thing I've learned hear, is there's many more varities of most all plants than I ever knew. Like I'm learning right know. A shade Lavender ??? I thought they ALL loved as much sun as possible ! Shrug!
Seems that sun till 8:30 AM would be doable. But ! Your in AZ. Ouch !
How intense is sun, at 8:30 AM ?

As any greenhouse plant. Slowly ! Break her in to direct sun. Start by bright indirect lite, for several days. Then, a bit of morning sun for several days. Every several days, a bit more. ECT.
If she doesn't seam to like it ! Well ! Bring her back to indirect lite.
Just be sure to keep an everyday, close eye out on her. 👍👍
