Some prefer elephant bushes with red tips. When there are red tips, the plant is sunburnt. If it gets too sunny, your plant can lose leaves and that is very horrible (possibly fatal). Make sure that your plant is in partial shade or use a South window.

This plant can handle day long sun without any problems. The leaves do not blush red in full sun. Perhaps you are confusing this plant with the jade (Crassula ovata) which will develop red tips on the leaves in the sun? Regardless, that plant can also handle day long sun.
