I have a beautiful clematis. It's heavy and I know it needs to be cut back. I would like to grow this in some other spots. I don't know how to replant what I cut off. I'm new at this and I don't want to kill this beautiful climber.

I've never had the luck of rooting any part of any clematis I removed. What is the name of the clematis? Color? Bloom time?

I'm not sure of the name. It's purple and blooms April or May thru Sept.. I did find an answer right after I posted my question. I'm going to try and see what happens. Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'll post again in a few weeks and let you know what happens.
