In 2015, we had many plants in Arizona. We had to unexpectedly leave town for over 3 months for a family emergency, and I did not have anyone to care for my plants. When we returned, we were shocked to find any alive- let alone the water hungry money tree! Then we moved not too long after, and we brought the two across country.
At first, the money tree lost 2 stems. Eventually, it lost two more. Since 2015, it has intermittently looked like it's not going to make it, then it bounces back. It's come close to getting tossed at least 5 times. But now, look at it now!
The jade, was a 4" cutting that apparently didn't like the move, because it later had a case of mealy bugs. Luckily it wasn't too bad and I could remove them one by one. And now, take a peek! It's 16" tall! It's about due to be re-potted and straightened, but I'm not in a hurry, that will sort itself out later.
I think it's truly amazing the survival of these two plants! Maybe we could take a lesson from them!
