Golden Dew Drop (Duranta erecta 'Sapphire Showers') It gets over wintered in the basement under fluorescents. A giant butterfly, moth, and hummingbird magnet. This is it's 5th year. It's grown as a standard in a very large pot. Golden Dew Drop (Duranta erecta 'Sapphire Showers') Nothing that's been done can ever be changed. |

Thanks longk. We are fortunate enough to have an easy outside stairwell to the basement in addfition to curved stairs in the house. I don't think we could navigate Duranta otherwise.![]() Last year we had to trim it's size by two thirds to get it down there through the stairwell. It usually looses most of it's leaves but bounces back impressively when returned outside. A hand truck is used to move it's 23 inch dia. pot. Nothing that's been done can ever be changed. |

Crinum Cecil Houdyshel. This crinum is in continuous bloom from March to November! I've never had a crinum that blooms this often. Also had a pretty little yellow rainlily finally bloom. It's Citrina. The yellow just doesn't bloom as often as the pink ones, so I'm especially happy when they do bloom. ![]() ![]() |

G'day all. Spring has arrived here at my patch and with it an explosion of daffodils. The gales of last week knocked quite a few blooms to pieces, but plenty more have opened since. Here is a taste. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Different latitudes, different attitudes |

Ta Kristi ! I can't get the best out of this Chilean tuber, Tropaeolum tricolorum, but love it all the same. There is a blue cultivar, raised from seed, that will flower later this year, if not, next year.It is showing more vigour that tricolor, though the later can be 2 metres tall.I guess I should put it in the ground. ![]() Different latitudes, different attitudes |

G'day all! Been busy pollinating daffodils most of this week.Back is killing me, as you have to bend to emasculate before pollination and of course save some choice pollen.Almost finished pollinating daffs, except for some triandrus and crossing viridiflorus with jonquilla and poeticus with jonquilla.Of course you all know what I mean ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Different latitudes, different attitudes |
