Does it have square stems? Or is that just a shadow?

That's what I get for taking a quick glance and not looking closely enough. Nothing like a sedum. Whistling

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

Leaves do not match clematis and clematis do not have square stems.

I think it is definitely some kind of Salvia. The square stems almost give it away. Don't know what variety though. Why not pot it up and take it to the nearest nursery for ID.

it looks like emerging perennial growth , might have a tap root I don't recommend digging it up.
I would let it bloom wear it is.

seems so familiar , but I just can't figure out what it is yet.
was hoping some else would come up with a name by now.

didn't look like any scutellaria I saw either

Started to bloom today. Sorry, not the best picture. My phone camera lens is broken. Didn't have my real camera handy. Hopefully this is enough to identify.
