I was lucky to get a very old seed to germinate. Now it's hummingbird food! I haven't grown Salvia splendens before, and I like it. I was not successful germinating Yvonne's Salvia, however. Does anyone have seeds to trade from their own Yvonne's Salvia plant?

I transferred it to a large pot, where it will share space with volunteer Salvia coccinea.

Wow! Thumbs up
Was the pack stored in the fridge or at room temperature?
Did you do anything special to get germination?

I have a stash of old Salvia seeds and I'm considering how I want to experiment with them. Green Grin!

Thanks!

The seeds were in a cool basement. Good luck!

I was surprised to see ripe seeds in each calyx. Yay!

Joseph,

Your salvia seedling looks beautiful with the pink and red color combo.
