Unless it's in dense shade, I don't think that's a hollyhock, the stems are just too narrow. I could be wrong, becasue I don't have a lot of experience with hollyhocks

I always like to let anything iffy bloom at least once before I yank out in a new place- it kinda forces you to think, to plan and to stay sane at the landscape shop's sale
