This plant belongs to another user on houzz, but i saw a few like it the last time i was buying plants. I have no idea what it is, all i can tell you it resembles a parodia magnifica or schumanniana, but has grey spines, which are black or dark brown when young. Has a darker green tint.

To me it looks like an Echinopsis, but the picture is so small it is impossible to see any detail.

I agree with both those assessments.

Im not really convinced. Most echinopsis of that shape and size have pretty firm spines- this things were like brushes, and maybe more numerous. The new spines are concentrated and make a cone like on parodia leninghausii.

Really you think that looks like Parodia leninghausii?

Has the spine cone thing, but ribs are wider, spines less dense. Something halfway between magnifica and lenninghausii.

I grow and have grown hundreds of Echinopsis plants from tiny finger tip sized offsets that have fallen off big plants, seedlings, to big mature multi headed clumps all the way to the columnar giants that used to be Trichocereus. Even with this terrible picture this plant screams Echinopsis way more than the two Parodias you mention or something in the middle between them, but I am sure a better picture might help convince me otherwise, or since you appear to know so much better you should not have bothered posting this in the first place.

I'm not sure what it is myself, but it definitely doesn't resemble Parodia leninghausii to me. Smiling

Taken from the internet, but this doesn't resemble the picture above in any respect. Big Grin
