To keep algae growth down and your bird bath clean, add 1 capful of apple cider vinegar or 1 teaspoon per gallon of water to the bird bath. The apple cider vinegar also provides vitamins & minerals to the birds.

Is it safe to put apple cider in bird baths where our bee hives are at?

I doubt it will do any harm but if the bees don't like it, I don't imagine they will drink it. It's a capful in a full birdbath. It's not like you're making it 1/2 & 1/2 or stronger.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
