Lestv said:Due to space and money I usually order one of a cultivar at a time. That doesn't mean that from time to time the vendor doesn't send more than one. Last year I got 4 of one of my iris. I have ordered a second one of a few after I have seen them bloom.

I agree I agree

In my case, I think it was intentional as I also received multiples of all but one of the other Irises. Pretty excited about that, not the least reason for which is they are still shaking down from the move, making the extras even more surprising. Smiling

I managed to order the same iris from three different vendors!!! Whoops! D'Oh!

Do you think I might have ordered from too many vendors? Rolling my eyes.

Yes. Hilarious!

The upside is that you'll have an instant clump, which means you will increases to share all the sooner. Whistling

I used to order only one BUT after buying some I dearly loved and having them bloom the following year with no increase and bloom out, I used a different strategy this year. I had to move my whole garden this year in March. So I gave a lot away and only kept ones that did well for me here in hot Texas. I built two new beds and they are half full, so I ordered two or three of each (nothing new). Now if one blooms out I will have some left. Also the ones that do well will give me instant clumps. I lost many during the move, they rotted so some are replacements.

When i moved, i ended up giving like 70% away. Then when i got into the new place i planted what i had. They were going ok for a while and i ended up with a hospital stay I ended up losing let of them. I tried saving alot of the, but lost like 2/3. So now its slowly regretting them and getting the ones i brought to repopulate themself.
