Hey, it's already June. I've used photos of Sunny June and roses with various "summer" names as the thumbnails for earlier June threads, so this year I'll use another "summer" rose that comes in two varieties -- a floribunda and a hybrid tea.

Summer Dream, the Fryer floribunda, is a lovely and vigorous rose that produces whole bouquets at the end of its canes.

Summer Dream, the Warriner hybrid tea, is a very tall rose with perfect exhibition blooms.

Zuzu, both roses are lovely - I wish I had more real estate - these 2 roses are "must haves".
As you can tell from the photos, it's raining here and will continue off and on till Tuesday. Taking photos can be a challenge. Here are a few of my roses that are beginning to bloom. Perle d'Or was planted a week ago and Blue For You & Distant Drums last summer (all own root).

The red rose is Royal William and the pink is Key Largo. The frogs' names are Rustic William and SeƱor Frog.

I want frogs in my roses! I especially admire Rustic William.

I suspect my lack of frogs are in related to the arrival of my chickens, maybe not but I used to water and see them hopping and I rarely see any the last couple of years.

I can't blame my chickens for my roses' froglessness. The girls are pastured behind the barn and the roses grow on the other side of the property. However I have seen hens hunt frogs - especially the Buckeye pullets - so you may be right, Sue. That first picture must be a hen on patrol.

A friend of Kim's delivered 'Yantai' to me today ... Hurray!

I held off disbudding the roses so there would be something in bloom when they came to drop off the rose. I took lots of photos before I started more disbudding .. Smiling

Here are a few .. yes, there are some repeats, but I won't see roses in bloom again until next month ..

They are lovely! Too bad that you have to remove all the buds to save the roses for later.

Thank you, Porkpal. Yes, it's kind of a loss for me, but it's good for the roses beyond keeping the curculios from breeding in the garden.

The roses will push more foliage, which will make up for the foliage I removed while trying to reduce the sawfly population. So, it's not all bad ... Smiling

My spring marathon is really, really over ... Hurray!

There was one bud I missed when I disbudded the roses out in front of the house. This bloom of 'Manau Meilland' is old and bug eaten, but I still think it's pretty ... Whistling

Thumb of 2018-06-08/RoseBlush1/3136fe

I took a couple of shots of 'Linda Campbell' before I disbudded the rose. No close ups because the curculios have been at work:

Now, I get to work at a slower pace. I think I'll enjoy that a lot ... Smiling

Most of my roses are recharging from their earlier efforts; it's great to be able to enjoy other folks'!

I agree

Since I am now disbudding the roses, they won't be allowed to bloom until the end of the month ... Smiling

The curculios are not as bad this year, so I waited until I found them on several plants before I disbudded the garden.
