Does the bloom always look like that, Jo Ann ? It looks to me like that is an "affected" bloom from being to close to some kind of weed killer spray. Shrug!

I believe you are right. I had a dwarf that did the same thing.
SIL spreads Weed Killer and Fertilizer in the spring.

I agree with Arlyn. It definitely looks like an iris that has had a dose of weed killer. If it goes a whole year without coming into contact withe the substance again it should bloom normally next year.

Alas no.
The Dwarf that grew like this was OK after a season.
I suspect the Soninlaw was a bit close with the spreader.
