Attached are 2 pics of an apple tree in my garden. The trees bark on the trunk and branches has become covered in pale grey/green circles with tiny black dots in the centre. It also has what appears like a fine cottony fungus in areas where branches have previously been pruned. The circles and the cottony fungus both appeared over the last three months or so. It has previously been fine.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks, Michael

You have two things going on. The first appears to be lichen growing on the trunk of your tree. They won't hurt anything.

The other stuff.... Maybe mealybugs? Try spraying those spots with rubbing alcohol and then blast them off with the hose.

Report back with more photos.
