Hey plant friends! I live in South Carolina zone 8a. My backyard is partial to full sun and I was hoping to start a fern bed. I have only grown ferns indoors (birds nest ferns and lemon button ferns) and I am not sure what to plant outdoors that will survive and come back every year. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Lots of native ferns available.
I suggest visiting specialty nurseries, and visiting natural areas to get a feel for our native plants.

Right off-hand, I can think of a number of native ferns I'm growing out in the shade garden, like netted chain ferns, Christmas ferns, ostrich ferns, cinnamon fern, royal fern... Grape fern, ebony spleen wort...

Plenty of natives... You might already have some of them growing at your house.
