@Lestv,
Thank you. I found Superstition on Facebook but can't figure out how to find PPE or how to order anything, so I sent an email inquiry.

Carol - they are very good at responding to emails so I hope you hear from them soon. I didn't check my catalog to see if they listed it this year, but they will certainly blet you know. Smiling

Strange season this year. Usually my last to bloom are Ring Around Rosie, Time Will Tell and Recherche. The first two are finished, haven't seen a sign of Recherche at all and both Easter Candy and Gypsy Lord opened yesterday. I think they will be the last one this year.

Looks like Painted Shadows will be taking the prize for last to bloom. Maybe! All Night Long has been showing color for over a week and seems stuck. Don't know what's up with that. It hasn't bloomed in 3 years so maybe it realized it made a mistake sending up a stalk and is having second thoughts. Hilarious!

It is slowly beginning to fill in. The two year old stuff really liked the diet of old horse manure mixed with ring dirt and bloomed beautifully. Many of the "Mothers" from last fall are growing, and a few even bloomed! We lost some that drowned or washed out in the heavy rains over the winter. We have about 25 feet at each end of the hill outside the indoor planted. That leaves 250 feet in the middle still to go!

My friend and previous boss - the facility owner - is having some serious health issues, so the blooms have helped cheer her up! Thanks for the contributions!

Evelyn, I'm surprised your 'Trillion' is blooming this late. Mine bloomed back in early-mid May.

@Lestv,
You were right. I got a response from Superstition today: $5 per Purple People Eater rhizome plus $12.75 shipping to PA, where I live, for the first three rhizomes and $1 per rhizome above three.

My climate is a bit cooler than yours, so that might account for the difference. Also, these were all planted last year. Maybe they will bloom earlier next year, if we don't get snow in April!

I noticed in my records that Trillion first bloomed on May 23rd. I have 3 rhizomes of this one.

I will have to go check outside. The last picture of Trillion was on June 3rd.

Swingtown is in bud and hasn't bloomed yet, so I would say that it is the latest to bloom.

Thanks to those who verified that Superstition has 'Purple People Eater'. I decided that I didn't want to risk mine blooming out, so I added a rhizome to my order. (It's going into the ground later this summer, so it won't be another pot to coddle.)

I forgot that my Swingtown was one of the last ones to bloom this year until someone mentioned it. I love it and it usually blooms earlier.
