Lucky you Tom. Wish mine would bloom earlier because then it wouldn't get zapped by the heat.

It is near the house though where things bloom earlier, but it was still early among that group.

Hilarious! haven't posted to this thread, yet, because the last iris to bloom in my garden was 'naughty nights' and 'cozy cotton'. [ edited to add: and they bloomed the last week in december.]

I've got three pinks, a purple, and 'Competitive Edge'..

'Strawberry Shake'
Thumb of 2018-06-14/Henhouse/38ed40

'Poodle Parade' started blooming May 8th... blooming for a full month!
Thumb of 2018-06-14/Henhouse/9c8c42

'Pretty Kitty'
Thumb of 2018-06-14/Henhouse/e6a6a3

'Majestic Ruler' is the purple

I've had 'Competitive Edge' for many years.. Way overdue for dividing, and it's mostly in shade now.. and still blooms!

I forgot about 'Sweet Musette', also blooming now. It was planted late, and it's blooming shot w/ small flowers.

Huh, Sherry.... My 'Sweet Musette' finished blooming quite a while ago; it's no longer a contender here. I had one or two short stalks, but the rest were the usual tall height.

Pretty Kitty was very pretty in my garden this year, Sherry. There's one bloom of it hanging on.
Strawberry Shake has a smallish pod - hoping!

It looks like I am going to have to eat my words! As I was just gazing at the remnants of Chasing Rainbows a few minutes ago, I noticed the iris right behind it was giving another bloom!!!

Swingtown takes a better picture in the shade.

So it's confirmed, the last one to bloom this Season was "Enough is Enough". It sent one last (deformed) bloom yesterday, but in the 100 degree heat, it didn't last long. So the season started in February and ended on the last week on June. Thumbs up (Unless something decodes to bloom really late, which happens.)

'Baltimore' opened its last flower yesterday, so it will be done soon too. So almost ditto here; ignoring rebloom (scattered in January and February) and anything not TB, bearded iris season started about March 24 ('Busy Being Blue' and ? maybe 'Charismatic') and ends last week of June with 'Baltimore'.

i still have stalks coming on 'saxon', 'pinkness' , 'iceland', 'comic opera', 'megglethorpe', 'carpe diem' and i think one more ( i saw this morning.) but cannot remember its name. D'Oh! i think i've posted pictures of all of these flowers since the start of my bloom season in january.

however, my irises do not bloom as they are listed. many bloom whenever, early, mid, late, and rebloom 6 weeks after the initial bloom. or sometimes after the initial spring bloom will appear in the fall, and again as late as november or december: my garden is not a good benchmark to measure irises by. Sighing! i am lucky because i am able to enjoy them almost all season long. there are gaps between, and very few with multiple stalks. (however, i have observed that my recent sutton acquisitions have produced multiple stems....and its been their first season, to boot. 'cozy cotton', ' carpe diem', 'autumn rain', and 'australian rose' come to mind. i'll be keeping a more watchful eye in the future, to see if the trend continues next year.)

Yeah, Daisy! I think I will keep Swingtown!

Grape Expectations did not live up to any expectations of mine, but I will give it another year to see what happens.

I looked it up.... dang, that's a fine looking purple!

I cut the last (fried) bloom on 'Baltimore' today, so I am done here, excepting any rebloom.
