These are all 1-gallon own-root roses for $10 each, plus regular shipping and handling. The sale roses are listed on this page:

I'm fighting the urge here!! Not much choice anyways. Truck repairs and lack of rose space this year have taken my flower budget. Sighing!

I made a trip there before the sale. I knew they would have a sale, but I guessed the Evelyn I'd wanted would be gone if they had it. I got lucky and they had Evelyn. They had the biggest dog that I thought was a great dane, but he wasn't. Doberman I think. Anyway, he was very sweet, but might scare you, if you aren't aware of the dogs. Only one really barked and seemed annoyed by people, but that was a smaller dog. The rest of them were sweeties. Something to keep in mind if you ever drive up there, especially if dogs scare you.

I love nurseries with pets. Most of the nurseries here have cats, but a few have friendly dogs, and one used to have a big and beautiful long-haired white possum.

I've yet to see a possum, but that's the only roses place I've ever visited. I did see one bite a person once, but he was warned to leave it alone. It was his fault. Hilarious! The emojis are a nice feature, I'm trying not to abuse them. *resisting the urge to post them all* *Blush*

This possum was in a large enclosed pen, so no biting.

I like the emojis, too, but they can also be turned off in the personal settings by members who don't like them. Same thing with the avatars. Some people get seasick from the emojis and distracted by the avatars. Go ahead and post them all. Green Grin!

This sounded like a fantastic idea. I've never purchased from RU before, and had fun going through the sale roses. I decided upon 4 sale roses ($10 each), and 2 non sale roses ($18 each). Then found that between shipping and handling it would cost another $59 to get them to California, so an average of $22 per rose.

Not their fault at all - it's a long trip across the country. But at that price, decided I'd be better off waiting for the 50% off fall Reagan Nursery sale, where I can by 2 gallon containers and hand pick my roses. Alas.

I agree. I hate RU's shipping charges to California. It is a long trip, but I always compare it to Palatine, which is even farther away and will charge me only $31 for shipping 9 roses instead of the $81 RU would charge, not to mention the extra $10 RU tacks on for handling and credit card processing.

By the way, aren't Regan's sale roses in 5-gallon containers?
