Thank you for the indepth article on the Elderberry.
I have a Black lace elderberry and was curious to know if I could use the flowers and berries like my grandmother used to years ago. She dried the flowers and kept them for medicinal purposes and the berries were made into either jam or wine.
I live on Vancouver Island and right now my black lace bush/tree? is over twelve feet tall and totally covered in blossom. I cut it right back every fall and it shoots up again in the spring.
It's neighbour is a honeysuckle and they seem to get along really well.Birds and butterflies also like to visit along with the local squirrel.
Again thank you for your newsletter. Wish I had found this site a long time ago.
sincerly yours
