Thought I'd try posting a few pics to see how they come across. Been busy trying to clean up the yard and get photos edited. Will post more when I get more caught up.

Beth, these are lovely. As an old rose lover, I gravitate toward the first rose 'Watercolors Home Run' but I also really love your avatar rose. Would you please tell me its name? There is a special magic about striped roses. The only one I have right now is 'Deanna Krause' a Pioneer rose from the Texas Rose Emporium.

All fabulous, as usual, Beth. You're bound to have some roses that aren't in our database yet, so please propose their addition, or send me the names in a tree-mail, or just post the names in any thread in the forum and I'll create entries for them.

Deanna Krause is sweet, Ingrid. I really like Ponton's roses. Meredith Bohls, one of his roses, is among my top 10 favorites. I also like Elizabeth of Goshen and San Gabriel, which has a bloom shape close to Deanna Krause's. Chamblee's used to carry his roses, but they rarely offer them now.

SUMMER RAINBOW is especially pretty. I looked it up, and I'm not surprised to see Peace in the description. I'm a sucker for anything Peace related. My little one cane Chicago Peace has been getting the please grow talks since I planted it. "cmon...make a new cane already" Rolling on the floor laughing

Beth, flowers are so pretty. I have not heard good things about growing Watercolors Home Run, however it captures my heart every time I see it. How does it grow for you? I also love that Summer Rainbow. Just beautiful.

Ingrid, I have never seen nor heard of your Deanna Krause rose. It is beautiful. I think singles are such charmers in the garden. So thank you for posting it as I got to learn about a new rose (new to me anyway). BTW, who is that gorgeous kitty in your avatar?

Thanks guys.

Ingrid I love your DEANNA KRAUSE. I've almost ordered it in the past, several times, but just couldn't find enough other roses to add to make it worth the order. My avatar rose is Frank Benardella's beautiful ZEBRA. I need to get cuttings of it and his other similar pink striped beauty ROEDEAN sent to RU so they can propagate them. ZEBRA is only available in Australia, but I believe it might be available as a cut flower in limited supply.

Mustbnuts, my WATERCOLORS HOME RUN is a big ol' fat healthy plant. I recently had to tie it up because it got so big, and the rains we had last month knocked it over a bit. It's about 4.5ft x 3ft, but if you give it room it will spread out wider. I'm trying to prune it to grow more upright. Unfortunately, where I planted it, I put the roses too close together (trying to cram more in the bed). It really needs to have a lot more room. The blooms are kind of small this time of yr. WATERCOLORS has much larger blooms all yr round. It's a really good rose as well.

Beth, your Watercolors Home Run is so pretty! The rose has been a great disappointment to me, however, and to many others. I wonder whether we disappointed owners bought the rose from the "wrong" nursery. Mine came from Rosemania during one of its bad years, 2016, and died shortly after it was planted. Lady of Shalott, in the same shipment from Rosemania, suffered the same fate. When I dug them up to see what was wrong, I was amazed to see that the roots had disintegrated into black powder. I've never seen that before or since.

So glad some of you liked Deanna Krause. It's from the Antique Rose Emporium, and it's a sturdy plant that spreads a bit and does well in the heat.

Beth, Jason was adopted from our local humane society, but he turned out to be a purebred Turkish Angora. They're almost unique in that they have a long, single coat with no undercoat. I believe only one other breed has that characteristic.

Zuzu, I got my WHR from Brecks back a few yrs ago. I think I got it half off or something. Did one of their 50% off $100 I think. It's been a good rose for me since the beginning. I actually planned a bed around it. I have all bright pink and bright yellow roses and blends of the those colors. Sounds like Rosemania had some issues. Maybe that's why they quit selling roses.

Ingrid, Jason is a cutey-pie! You're lucky to have found him. And he's lucky to have you too! We had neighbors when I was a kid, who had a cat like him. I remember they said he was an angora. His name was Rusty. I used to love petting him. He was so soft!!
