Plants Admin

Do you want to post in a thread like this or into the plant database?

Below every posting box is the upload button to search on your computer for the image you want to add. The same as the avatar photo you uploaded.

Thanks so much for the help. What I'd like to do is post my pics so other people can see them so I guess into the plant data base ?? If you could direct me in that direction it would help. I'm sorry I've only really ever used my hands to work and am quite computer illiterate Grumbling

Hi Nick, a while back, Plantladylin posted about this.
" First, find the plant in the database. On the left side of the page you will see a column that says Adding Actions. The first item is Upload a Photo. Click there and select a photo from your computer. It will take a couple of seconds to upload and then you will get a prompt asking what type of picture it is, "Entire plant", "bloom", "leaves" etc. Check off the correct box for what the picture is and then scroll to the bottom and click on the green area that says Submit.

Your photo will go into a queue for the database moderators and you will receive a system message once it's been approved. "

Hi Nick! If you want to upload a photo to the database, find the plant in the database by typing in the name to do a search: https://garden.org/plants/sear... For instance, Plumeria: https://garden.org/plants/brow... The very first entry is for all Plumeria but for a named cultivar, look through the list and find that particular name and click to open; on the left side of the page, select Upload a Photo and follow the instructions. When we submit database photos, they first go into a waiting queue for administrators to approve and once approved, you will get a system message letting you know it's done.

If you just want to share photos of particular plants in the forums, look at the bottom left of the page and select the green area that says Upload an image.

LOL, cross posted. Green Grin!

Nick, I'm not the best at explaining so if you have trouble, just give a shout and someone will be happy to help.

Plants Admin

But you have to know the exact name of the plant, if it's a cultivar. You can just post in the generic entry of plant if you don't know the name.
For instance this is our Plumeria database (and FYI, you have plumeria misspelled for your user name and profile info) Green Grin!
The first entry is the generic entry, you can search for cultivars in the alphabetical listing.

Alternatively, if you just wish to share garden pictures and chat with others, click on the Community link at the top, then click Forums and select a forum from the list. You can post a new thread in the any forum by scrolling down on that page toward the bottom and starting a new thread for discussion, other member can join in too. Or you can select something like Garden Photos Forum for sharing your garden shots. Lots of possibilities depending on what you want to do,
