We love to talk about all aspects of weather, the effect on our gardens, and on our lives. It's a good place to keep a record of weather in our gardens from year to year too, so for that reason let's try to stay as close to the topic as we can. Please join us and tell us about your weather.

A little bit warmer on this first day of summer with a temp of 53 and it looks like it will be another nice sunny day to work in the garden. Thumbs up

The thunder and lightning continued all afternoon yesterday with not a drop of rain in our area, but it did cause a flash flood in one area last night, it sparked 51 new fires across BC, with another one at Tunkwa lake, that's between us and Kamloops, Sighing! We are expecting another very active day with thunder showers, thankfully it is cooler, 50 F right now, high of about 75 F.

64°/69°/58°
Showers likely, mainly before 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 69. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Jill,
Laughing! I woke up to 64° and wasn't used to it. But Linda would love to be snuggled under a quilt with it being that cold.

Ginny,
You might have to put in a raised border where the mulch washes out. It's annoying having to put it back.
Love your pictures!

Margaret,
Laughing, but I get why 81° is hot to you! That is low humidity tho!
Laughing again after reading Ginny's next post.
I sure hope you don't start with the fires again.
Oh yuck! I remember trying to sleep on hot nights.
I so hope the rains will put out the fires started and that you get rain too.

Char,
Thankfully cool nights when your AC isn't working.
Thanks for the new thread!
Rudbeckia? Love it!

Light rain this morning. Got about 2 and 3/4'' over the last few days.

It's not just the border Sally but it runs downhill and washboards and I just need to figure out some rocks placed to slow it down Sighing!

Hilarious! Definitely not missing the AC here Sally.....it was 45 this morning! Beautiful sunny day though that warmed up to 74. It did feel like the humidity was going up this afternoon and on the evening news they said showers/rain over the weekend. Perfect timing as the garden could use a drink.
The flower I believe is Gazania rigens an annual. The rudbeckia won't start blooming until later in July.

Gosh those fires don't sound good Margaret. Hope you get some rain real soon. Crossing Fingers!

We had a very noisy afternoon, lots of thunder but also got lots of rain. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! We had a couple of thunderstorms that dumped a lot of rain and large hail all at once, there was a river running down the street and our patio was flooded, after that the rain was on and off, still lightly raining out there. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Finally had some decent rain overnight ....It is grey and cloudy so hoping for more rain . We will take all we can get . We havent seen any for so long . there are about a gazillion scapes out there all just waiting for some rain.

Plants are stunted with many only reaching half their registered heights. Finished planting the 50 odd new daylilies in my gardens now just have to dismantle two long skinny gardens and move the daylilies from there to where they might just see some sun.

Margaret sounds like with all the fires last year and this year so far that soon you wont have to worry about them any more ......there will be no more trees left to burn. Are most of what is burning the blue pines. The ones the bugs have destroyed? I hope this year is not as bad for you as last year was.

Suffering from a nasty summer cold ......Really could have done without it but hubby felt the need to share .

Here are a couple of pics of daylilies that have put out blooms already . A month earlier than normal

I am glad that you got some rain, Signet Hurray!

It is cloudy here today, and we got a brief shower early in the morning, but not enough to really wet the ground. I don't think we will get any significant rain today. A sprinkle or two and that is all. I would like a good rain, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards.

It is cool today with a high temperature of 21 C or 70 F. The overnight temperatures have been quite cool over the last few days, with lows in the mid 40's F or around 6-8 C. I have been sleeping with my window open and it is lovely.
