Personally, I like to see more than one image from someones garden, it gives an idea of how a plant blooms through the season. One good FFO or bloom does not make a good garden plant and a plant that needs a bloom or two to get it's act together may put on a super show the rest of the season.

I agree
Since it looks like I'll only have 4 or 5 daylilies bloom this year, I'm going to post them again if they are still blooming in August, and again in September, if by some miracle anything is blooming then.
I ordered Beautiful Edgings because I saw it posted 3 months running last year. Whoever that was who kept reposting it last year, thank you. Thumbs up

Sue, such beautiful blooms!! I tip my hat to you. Especially Egyptian Queen and Indian Love Call! And Jill, Idiot Philanthropist is speaking to me as well! (I do have Two Sues, and I love it!) I am smitten today! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

I've been contemplating the question of whether or not I'd prefer to see photos that are manipulated to show the true color of the bloom, and honestly it doesn't matter to me because IMO, they are beautiful either way, but I can't help but wonder if the color correction is done to present the bloom color as it is in person, on the particular day the photo is shot, or to present the bloom color as it is exemplified by the AHS. So for all intents and purposes, I will assume it's done to present the color as seen on the day the photo is shot. Smiling That being said, It is completely understandable that one would prefer to present a photo of the bloom in the most accurate color displayed, and I certainly do not intend to upset the apple cart, but it is well known that true color is subjective in the digital world, based on the difference in how color is presented by the screen from device to device and monitor to monitor, etc. The digital age we're living in has certainly improved our lives in more ways than one can count, including affording us the luxury to view a photo the second it is shot on the screen of our cell phones, tablets, and digital cameras themselves. All we can do is the best we know how with the equipment in our possession. So, to me, I have no issue either way bc of the fact that my screen most likely does not present color the same way as the photographer's. Smiling Just my two cent's worth to file as you wish, and I'm a frequent resident of "file 13" so, feel free gang! I use a digital camera. Using only the more basic settings on the camera. Always: close-up, close-up sunny, general. Camera does more but I don't know how to use it to its fullest potential. If the pic doesn't look true to color it goes into "file 13" as Dana says. Smiling You can see in some of my pics that the foliage is an odd green or yellow green. When you see that the bloom isn't exactly the color as in "real life" but close enough.

I just love looking at all the blooms and expanding my "want" list Whistling Whistling Diana I can identify Woman at the Well before I even see the tag on it. Love that one!!! All of my Karol Emmerich daylilies have very sturdy scapes and great blooms. These seem to be more consistent than some others in how they bloom. Love her intros!!!

Since we have agreed that the FFO rule has been trashed, here is another bloom on Marseille Watercolor. This is a favourite of mine. It opens early in the season when I am dying for bloom and it is gorgeous. A hardy evergreen.

FFO for Cara Mia. This is one of my first daylilies and it is a great plant for the perennial border. I have it planted next to the grass Calamagrostis Overdam. The colour of the flower on Cara Mia looks nice with the seed heads on the grass.

I am way behind and missed seeing this thread. It has taken me some time to get through, and it is only July 6! I spotted some I was going to be sure to comment on, but that some turned into many, and many more. Then there were some amazing clump photos. Of course, I can't remember the names and who they belonged to now, but there were some really amazing blooms. Some I am familiar with, a lot I am not but would like to be! Great thread!
