No, it provides very useful specific information about the susceptibilities of that specific genus to insect attack, and most importantly where the invasion tends to occur. Gardeners can then know where to look in order to avoid problems.

Why all this criticism of informative images?

They are informative when used in the appropriate articles, or in specific topics. Not in what is called "plant database". What you are referring to is more of a "pest database" or " images with specific purpose database" or simply " exhibit images". You also simply didnt get the point- while having species, and having no ID genus photo pages, i understand to a certain extent, placing a part of a plant, with bugs on it.....is a story for itself....

The plant database is not just a place for pictures of perfect plants, or plants with perfectly complete IDs. The sooner you accept that reality, the sooner we can move on from this increasingly counterproductive thread. Smiling

I also see no problem whatsoever with stories within stories. The best picture is not just a portrait but an action shot in freeze frame, or something that helps tell a story. For example:
