I love Swingtown and G. Romance. Today I gifted a Swingtown that I had blooming in a pot to a friend.
I would love to see RR in my garden. It looks stunning!

Teresa, I love those two also. My Gypsy Romance is budded, and having lost Swingtown (I think), I have another on order.

irisarian said:How do you get to the data base? I would like to post Before the Storm. as I say, it is very rugged--must be so in New England. Then I will offer my BB Margaret Beaufort.

thank you. It is also one tough plant, having grown through ice in our garden.

I find that Swingtown and Gypsy Romance are quite similar. I know our classification people at our show had a hard time deciding which was which. I just love Swingtown. I have it in about 3 places in my yard. I find that Sultry Mood is also very similar to those other two. All are beautiful purples with blue beards.

I've got some really nice purples... some of the tried and true ones.. Dusky Challenger, Titan's Glory, Pledge Allegiance....
but this one, by Rick Tasco was just stunning this year...

Right now Nostalgic Memory is blooming, and makes a very pretty late blooming clump...

Blooming next to Nostalgic Memory is Smoky Dusk... Probably not the best placement for contrast in the garden, but this is really a beautiful, subtle color..

Does this qualify in the purple category..? It's really very elegant.. and when I say that, I don't just mean the flower, but how it's held on the plant, the branching, and overall effect.. This one is great.

'Commanding Presence' is lovely. And it doesn't fall here not even with all the rain we've had.
