We have this small little section in our backyard-gets about 6 hours of sun a day. Zone 8. I planted lilyturf here about a year ago but now I'm changing my mind! It's right against bedroom windows so I was hoping for something colorful. Maybe like flowering shrubs? Thoughts?

Maybe lantana or hot lips salvia microphylla.

Lantana and salvia sound good. I'd prefer a salvia one of a number of either annual or perennial. They would be a little taller than the lilyturf, would disguise the concrete.
Shrubs would get too big.
Mealy Blue Sage (Salvia farinacea)
Hummingbird Sage (Salvia coccinea 'Lady in Red')
