Sometimes what we plant in a certain area doesn't want to corporate..like the moss you planted.
You did the best thing and put in the area what grew best. No hassles…. Hurray! mondo grass and sweet flag always have blooms.

I just wish i wasn't so hardheaded and gave up sooner. I just built a long retaining wall on my side of my little stream and now have a safe place for tons of iris, cardinals and other wet soil plants, i'm hoping for an amazing garden.

The best part i did the 75' wall in January when i'm usually stuck in the house. I'll post pics when i get it somewhat planted. I was afraid to do anything before the wall as the dirt would collapse into the stream even pulling weeds.

A mossy chair at the greenhouse. I used to see a lot of these old chairs being tossed on garbage day.

LorettaNJ…Lovely plant combo in the chair…
I remember how popular the moss chairs were .
Had prepared a few for flower shows , but they don't seem to last longer than a few months.
They are so interesting it's so nice to see one again. Lovey dubby

I imagine either the chair would rot or the moss would dry up.

ah! Back to the garden after some health problems...I am wondering if moss could be grown on something like weed barrier or wood slats to get rid of competition from weeds. I will experiment with this. I don't want whole areas of moss, just a few targeted areas for color contrast. Like deep purple crocus that really needs green moss.

I have a shady spot under some old apple trees and HOPE to try some moss and other shade lovers. Bulbs would grow too, right?

Spring bulbs will do fine getting sun before tree leaves out.
