Hi Mike!
I called Chuck at Bluegrass Daylily Gardens and it wasn't a good performer for him so he's not carrying it anymore. He'll be taking it off the website. Thanks for looking for me though! I look forward to a tree mail from you.

Another way to get the Cleopatra 'look' would be through Dan Trimmer's introductions from his tet conversion of Cleopatra; Egyptian Queen (1999) and Wild Horses (2000).

Both are from Moonlit Masquerade x tet. Cleopatra. They grow great for me, but seem to be touchy for some growers. Check their database entries here (links above) for comments and links to relevant performance threads.

A good next-generation plant from that line is Hold Your Horses (2004). I only see good reports on that one.

I would be leery of trying Cleopatra in your climate. It was fairly tender here, and I've heard many in z.5-6 say it won't survive for them. Its sibling WILD HORSES does better here.

Thanks so much Ken, it looks like Egyptian Queen is a really good alternative. I didn't know there was a tet conversion. Thank-you very much for taking the time to reply and share your wisdom, links and suggestions! Wild Horses has also caught my eye and has been on my list. I'm going to take Mikes offer and then look for Egyptian Queen, lol.

Thanks for the reply Julie. I'm afraid you're right, I guess there was a reason why growers aren't carrying Cleopatra and it's been so difficult to locate. Even though it breaks my heart, it's good to hear this information from people like you. I'm grateful.

Bella Stella doesn't 'rebloom' but it does have an extended bloom season. AHS doesn't have an official category for that.
