Hello, everyone. I bought two fans of Goodbye Columbus last year and, so far, it is blooming nicely for me. This season I will get 13 buds per scape. I know that bud counts will vary a great deal from garden to garden, but if anyone can help, I would like to know if that is typical for this cultivar?

Thanks,
Dave

I don't show that as being a registered daylily when I look it up. Is that the exact name of the plant?

I used the name the vendor (Tranquil Lake) used. It's registered as "Good-bye Columbus", by Abraham in 1998 .

I don't grow it but I noticed it was registered with 31-35 buds, and 2 way branching. That sounds a little odd to have such a high bud count, but maybe it does for some.

I am the hybridizer. Goodbye Columbus is indeed registered. It is a bud builder and when grown under ideal conditions can produce 50 buds per scape. I never got quite that many!

But it is not registered as Goodbye Columbus...The AHS has it registered as 'Good-bye Columbus' (Abraham, 1998).
