I was THRILLED to see this moonflower vine blooming this morning. This is only the 2nd time ever I've been able to see a flower on one of these annual vines. Normally the frost hits before they bloom. I believe I started this vine from seed in January.... Whistling Thumb of 2012-09-18/Seedsower/1ac794

What a beautiful yard! I wish mine looked like that, instead of all the lawn that we have.

I've had an issue with morning glory this year too. I have lots of it, but it's almost all from seeds that dropped last year. The seeds that I planted didn't do well at all. I think the problem is that as soon as I planted them, it got to be 100 degrees, and it was just too hot. I usually cover about 80 feet or so of fence in them. This year, they aren't looking great, and I should have pulled them out as they are growing everywhere from the seeds that dropped. And, 90% are purple! I love mixing all the colors together!

Along with my daylily casualties this year, I lost most all of the hosta in this bed over winter. I just never got back to this one once I transplanted them, the heat last summer kept me indoors more than ever.

Sad :(

The thread "Seedsower Sandy's Gardens" in Daylilies forum

Oh well, the link didn't take me to the actual photo. Another disappointment, ha!

The photo is on page 4, about 1/2 way down. Shed hosta bed

Sandy, I am sorry you lost those hostas, as I recall all of your hostas were very large and beautiful. Sad

I have several no show hosta as well this spring. I have noticed some are VERY slow to show pips this spring. Maybe your losses won't be as bad as you think! Let's hope so, anyway! Crying
