It was a great experience for me to take a Hosta growing class at Morris Arboretum. I was able to ask the expert about issues I wasn't so clear about. I finally have answers that I sometimes had two or three different bits of information on so I wasn't sure who to listen to.
The class learned all the ins and outs of using Hosta plants in containers. Then we were given a choice of containers to select from and were allowed to select 5 of the 8 different miniature hostas that were on display. The soil was provided along with moss and stones if we so choose and we planted a miniature garden to take home. Learning from an expert was the best. I selected Hosta 'Mini Skirts', H. 'School Mouse', H. 'Blue Elf', H. 'Cameo', and H. 'Munchkin Fire'.
