I know some of you are ready to start trading. Here is a thread to ask, or offer what you want or have. I know Crittergarden is looking for a semp that stays red year round. Anyone have a year round red semp? |

YES I AM looking for a year round red semp! ValleyLynn suggested Rubicon Improved and Darjeeling but I haven't been able to obtain any yet. SHOW ME YOUR CRITTERS! I have a critter page over at Cubits. http://cubits.org/crittergarde... |

I don't have enough to share but Pacific Devil's Food pretty much stays red, or at least not green, for me year round. I think I have Rubicon improved, but only since last fall. A great place to put your lists is on Cubits: http://cubits.org/sedumandsemp... Follow my semp trading list link to see what I have. |
Great idea tabby. I forgot about those threads. ![]() |

I've got a couple that are reddish/purple that stay that color all year - you can see pictures in the database: Purple Ruby and Viking. Not super red, but they do hold their color. I have enough of both to share so let me know if you're interested. Cubits Store: The Sempervivum Patch - Sempervivum plants! |

I'm up for any that will be *different* from all the green ones I have. I need them to accent the greens in a mass planting. I didn't know there were trade threads on cubits - I'll go look! I have a "have" list over at DG. Will be adding to it as spring progresses and I see who's increasing enough to divide. SHOW ME YOUR CRITTERS! For those of you that are new to sempervivum, just wanted to let you know that many here will trade for plants other than sempervivum. ![]() |

Well crap. I went out to find Purple Ruby and couldn't find it. Came in and looked at my notes and it's the one that some critter dug up last fall to plant walnuts in it's place, and it didn't make it through winter. ![]() Viking is still good to go though! Hi folks: I am new to growing semps. I hadve a few hens and chick noids left that were my only attempt to grow these. My critters on the riverbank keep digging and scratching them and I have lost most of them. I am interested in many that my daughter has asked me to look for. We want to start growing these cute plants. I would have to do a trade other plants., I do not have any semps to trade. Please let me know if there is anyone interested in helping us get our collection started. Marsha (doglover)Looking for some burgunday and dark ones. If interested tree-mail me and I can send you a list of what we are looking for. But, we will take whatever we can get. Thank you. |
Hi Marsha. There are many people here that would love to trade with you. I won't be able to do any trading until the middle of May, but I know I have some that you would love to have. : ) |

Valleylynn: That would be fine. Would love to trade in May. Weather has been crazy. I just finished adding the list of semps. that my daughter and I thought would be pretty to have. We are open to suggestions. Can't wait. I also will need inofrmation on the proper growing conditions and soil. Please send me in the right directions. I am sure all that info is here somewhere. So many knowledgeable people. I am out of my comfort zone here, but wanting to learn as much as I can. Thanks, Marsha (doglover) |
All you need to do is make sure your soil is fast draining, whether in the ground or containers. There are so many ways to grow them and each person has experimented until they find what works for them in their region. Here are some links that planting medium is discussed. : ) The thread "Potting Mixes and Difficult Soil" in Sempervivum forum The thread "Semp Gardens & Raised Beds" in Sempervivum forum Hope these help, let us know if you have any questions. ![]() |
