Any ideas what this might be? The leaves are trifoliate, but I know for a fact that it's not poison ivy.

Toxicity information would also be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Possibly, but I can't find much on that genus. It does look like a type of grape, except that ours has never flowered or produce fruit that I know of within the last 10 years at least. Maybe it will be different this year since it's getting regular water.

I've considered this one, but I've never seen it lose its leaves, unlike other grape vine we have.

Also, the leaves are never lobed and always the same shape. There are also soft, small spines along the edges of the leaves where the veins terminate.

Other grape vines are likely Vitis, or some kind of Parthenocissus, so comparing to them may not be relevant if your vine is not one of those.

I was just comparing the "deciduous" part. I've never seen it lose its leaves.

I grew that as a houseplant in the early '70's.. Cissus rhombifolia. Although I recall seeing some bloom in greenhouses, mine never did...I was just starting to learn about plants, so it was probably abused and potbound. *Blush* If yours is outside in S. Cal, you may be rewarded.. I don't recall the flowers being anything special..
