We got a hova-bator w/turner and will load it with 3 dozen eggs tomorrow. I may even sell some day old chicks locally. We are also going to grow out French Freedom rangers and Delaware/ranger cross breeds for the freezer. The Delaware/ranger pullets make great egg birds too. |

I love Delawares and had been hoping to add some pullets to my flock, but the local hatcheries were all back-ordered. Please post pictures when yours hatch. Porkpal |

Just hatched out 21 out of 24 eggs this weekend. Mostly Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, and a hand full of mixed breed. They are so fun. Last year I ordered 24 of the BLR's from Foley's, I got 25, 5 hens, and 20 roosters! (Not too good at $10 each) So this year I'll see if I can get a few more of the hens. They are so pretty. The Delaware chickens did not do as advertised. Not friendly dual purpose birds. The freedom rangers did do great this year. |
