Found in natural light woodland, alongside a trail, on a south-facing slope in northeastern Indiana, zone 5b.

Individual flowers are very small.
Thumb of 2012-04-15/chelle/e220e6

Tips resemble vines, with (it looks like) clockwise twining ends.


Entire plant shown here is 12 - 14" tall.


Bloom period began early April here.
