In my botanical ethics (or lack thereof), any plant within reach of public property is in bounds for pilfering for propagation. Such is the case of this unknown vine that was covering a wall at a residence in Jacksonville, Florida, with some parts of the vine extending slightly out over the sidewalk. I had forgotten I had taken a piece of the vine and didn't know which pilfered propagation it might be when I planted the rooted cutting last year. I do recall the flowers as being the same as those I admired on the wall. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jeremy ![]() |

It says 'Thunbergia' to me. |

Hi, Dutch! I agree, it looks very much like a Thunbergia, but it is not T. grandiflora (Bengal Clock Vine/Blue Sky Vine) because I have that one and this flower is more pink. Maybe T. laurifolia?? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F... Thanks! Jeremy |

Sue's quite right Jeremy! I've had it for years in my garden south of Rome, Italy. The perfume is lovely too! |

Thanks, Calif_Sue! It now has a name (was driving me nuts). Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread, but I am still finding my way around the website and couldn't figure out how to get back to this thread. Suesings - I haven't noticed an aroma, but I will give it a closer sniff. Jeremy |
