So cute!! It reminds me of skullcap, maybe? It looks like the stem is square, which would put it in the Lameaceae (mint) family....

Yes, I see that it isn't right... but on the bright side, I just realized that I identified one of my own plants that needed a name!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing how funny.

But yours still seems familiar...

Not there yet. The "spots" on mine are purple/red rather then yellow. And the center petal is "split" at the bottom rather then "rounded"...if that makes sense. I can try for a more close-up of the bloom with a different camera if that would help, but no gaurentee

Your first photos are fine Ginger, I thought the leaves might be a clue to the family. I've been through every genus in Scrophulariaceae but not found a match.

How about Angelonia? http://garden.org/plants/search/text.php?q=Angelonia

~ ~ ~ Edited to say: Nope, not right. I keep forgetting to enlarge the photo's and the leaves kinda, sorta reminded me of Angelonia but once I see the larger picture of the blooms I see it's not. ~ ~ ~

The leaf and flower look similar to American Pennyroyal (Hedeoma pulegoides).

Yeah, I wasn't sure but it looks close. Hilarious!
I liked the way I could brouse the site in a variety of ways, by color or by familiy, etc. but you probably have some more thorough sites that you use.
You are excellent with ID, Janet! Thumbs up

Not a bad suggestion Christine, I think that helped me find it! Hedeoma drummondii

Not sure about the foliage though .. but it's the only species on the southeasternflora site.

Hedeoma hispida is the only one that shows as being in Florida.
Looks like a good match.

I think that has to be correct Jay, I had meant to check the USDA site but it was very early here, or very late! Hilarious! It is the only one in Florida.
