Daniel is ediblelandscapingsc. He is in Catawba, SC. I am a bit concerned for him and his family. An earlier tree-mail I received from him:
"We are getting ready as best we can, we should be okay unless the dam breaks. I'm about 1/8 of a mile from the river. They are talking a ton of rain for both NC and SC and the Catawba river goes from the NC mountains all the way to Columbia SC where it meets up with other waterways. For the most part the scariest part is going to hit the coast with the 100+mph winds and storm surge. we may get a few trees down but they are saying 45mph gust for us. Since I'm in the boonies if the power goes out it may be a while before it's restored but we have plenty of water, food, charcoal, and other essentials. We are just hoping for the best."
I told him to be very careful due to flooding. I thought that would be the issue and I was right. Wind damage is one thing, but flooding can be really bad. I hope Daniel and his family are ok. My thoughts and prayers are with all residents getting rain and wind and flooding from this storm. Gives me nightmares, or maybe it is PTSD. I will never forget 2004. I have said every year since then, that I hope we never have to go through a storm season like that again for as long as I live. It would shorten my life span to deal with that kind of damage and repairs again.
