True of most deer, but female reindeer do have antlers. The males shed theirs in the fall so don't have any in the winter, while the females retain theirs throughout the winter, shedding them only in the spring. Because all of Santa's reindeer have antlers in the winter, it follows that they are all female. That is, if you don't take artistic freedom into consideration. Can you imagine seeing Santa's sled being towed along by reindeer without any antlers?
Just wouldn't be the same!
Oh, and also, male reindeer can't fly. Only the females do!
